The sweaty season so going to make iced coffee using cold brew

It's getting increasingly muggy in Tokyo.
I'm already wearing a short-sleeved shirt.
Even just a short walk makes me sweat.
It's the season when cold drinks taste great.

The vending machines only sell cold drinks.
I always buy iced coffee.

I also make iced coffee at home.
I bought some dark roasted coffee beans for iced coffee at "KALDI COFFEE FARM".
Since I got burr coffee grinder, I've been buying beans instead of powder.
The aroma of freshly ground coffee is exceptional.
The coffee grinder I use can only grind two or three cups of beans at a time, but I love it.
Since it's a small coffee grinder, it doesn't make much noise when it's running, so I can use it even at night.

In my house, I make five cups of iced coffee at a time.
So I have two of these small coffee grinders.
A burr coffee grinder takes a long time to grind the beans, but it produces a uniform powder size.
There are no mistakes that are too fine, too coarse or uneven.

I use a cold brew coffee maker to make iced coffee.
Water is added drop by drop to the coffee grounds and slowly extracted.
My cold brew coffee maker can brew five cups in about 40 minutes.
The result is a refreshing iced coffee with few impurities.
I also tried the soaking method, which involves soaking coffee grounds in water overnight.
I also tried the quick cooling method, where hot coffee is dropped into a glass filled with ice.
However, I preferred the taste of iced coffee made by dropping water drop by drop into the coffee grounds.
The quick cooling method was also delicious, but I didn't choose this method because it uses too much ice.
It's fascinating to watch the coffee dripping drop by drop.
Once the coffee is done brewing, chill it in the refrigerator.

I like to drink my iced coffee with simple syrup.
I make my own syrup because the only ingredients are water and sugar.
Adding too much sugar will increase the viscosity and make it less likely to dissolve in your iced coffee.
I make mine with a water to sugar ratio of 1:1.5.
Homemade simple syrup is much cheaper than store-bought.

Once the iced coffee and syrup were ready, I tried it straight away.
Iced coffee tastes better if you let it sit in the fridge overnight, but I couldn't resist.
Iced coffee is the best on a hot and humid day.
